General 🚀
Google goes all in on AI: support for new languages, dark mode, export functions, and visual search were all announced today. Google is throwing everything at its AI chatbot Bard — while cautioning users it’s just an ‘experiment.’
Google Plans to Make Search More ‘Personal’ with AI Chat and Video Clips: a departure from the list of website results and nudge the service further away from its traditional format, known informally as the “10 blue links”. The changes represent a response to big shifts in the way people access information on the internet, including the emergence of AI bots like ChatGPT.
Google launches PaLM 2, its next-gen large language model: (w/ 540 billion parameters) that already powers 25 products.
Google makes its text-to-music AI MusicLM public: users can specify instruments like “electronic” or “classical,” as well as the “vibe, mood, or emotion” they’re aiming for, and have the tool create several versions of the song.
Microsoft 365’s AI-powered Copilot is getting more features and paid access
IBM unveils new watsonx, AI and data platform: IBM said companies can use the watsonx platform to train and deploy AI models, automatically generate code using natural language and use various large language models built for different purposes such as chemical creation or climate change modeling.
Salesforce Announces Slack GPT, Unlocks Power of Conversational AI for Work: features will include conversation summaries, writing assistance and no-code workflows that automate workflows.
Meta introduces AI Sandbox, generative AI capabilities for advertisers: Meta is building tools like text variation, background generation and image outcropping to do things like make an ad’s text more engaging or improve parts of its creative. The promise of Meta’s generative AI features is that companies will be able to generate variants more quickly based on a single example.
Claude’s Constitution: Anthropic trained their language model Claude with a Constitutional AI approach.

Meta open-sources multisensory AI model that combines six types of data: the new ImageBind model combines text, audio, visual, movement, thermal, and depth data.
Language models can explain neurons in language models: OpenAI uses GPT-4 to automatically write explanations for the behavior of neurons in large language models and to score those explanations. This could help us move towards more explainable and understandable models, helping to align them more closely to safe, human values.
