OpenAI launches new privacy controls and ChatGPT for Business, a new subscription tier for enterprise:
OpenAI announced yesterday a new feature that allows all ChatGPT users to turn off chat history. Conversations started when chat history is disabled won’t be used to train and improve OpenAI’s models and data will only be retained for 30 days
ChatGPT Business will follow API’s data usage policies, which means that end users’ data won’t be used to train our models by default
The new capabilities come as regulatory scrutiny grows over OpenAI’s data practices
Alphabet merges Google Brain and DeepMind into Google DeepMind: a move to bring a more aggressive fight to Microsoft and OpenAI and a deeper focus on integrating LLMs into Google’s search engine.
Meta wants to ‘introduce AI agents to billions of people: “We’re exploring chat experiences in WhatsApp and Messenger, visual creation tools for posts in Facebook and Instagram and ads, and over time video and multi-modal experiences as well,” Zuckerberg said on the earnings call.
Apple is reportedly developing an AI-powered health coaching service: Apple is developing an AI-powered health coaching service code named Quartz. The idea behind the service is to use AI and information from a user’s Apple Watch to develop coaching programs specially tailored for them.
Replit announces their series B extension raising $97.4M at a $1.16B valuation: the funding, led by some of the most prominent venture capital firms like Andreessen Horowitz, Khosla Ventures, and Coatue, reflects the 7-year-old company’s surging popularity in AI-assisted coding. Its user base has grown to 22.5 million developers, more than double the number it had in December 2021.
They also announced their own LLaMa style code LLM at their developer day: 2.7B parameters, 20 languages, 525B tokens, beats all open source code models on HumanEval benchmark, trained in 10 days
Harvey raises a $20M Series A led by Sequoia: Harvey’s ambition is to transform the legal industry — to enable smart, and committed but overburdened lawyers to be superhuman.
Hugging Face releases HuggingChat, an open-source alternative to ChatGPT: HuggingChat joins a growing family of open source alternatives to ChatGPT. Last week, Stability AI release StableLM, a set of models that can generate code and text given basic instructions.
