OpenAI launches its GPT Store: after delays, OpenAI finally opened its custom GPT sharing platform, allowing people who’ve created their own chatbots to publicly share their versions of ChatGPT. Since announcing the GPT Builder program in November, OpenAI said more than 3M GPTs have been created by users. Some education GPTs: Khan Academy’s Code Tutor, Prompt Engineering Professor, MBA Admissions Consultant, Consensus’s AI Research Assistant.
Microsoft launches a Pro plan for Copilot: Copilot Pro integrates next-level editing, presentation automation, and image creation into Word, Excel, and PowerPoint for a premium $20/month subscription.
OpenAI fires back at the NY Times: OpenAI dismissed the lawsuit as baseless and highlighted its supportive role for news outlets. The company mentioned that its partnership talks with The Times were positive before the lawsuit. OpenAI is also in talks with CNN, Fox and Time to license content.
ChatGPT won’t answer Election questions: OpenAI quietly launched a new form of content moderation for ChatGPT, disallowing it from replying to “general requests about voting and election-related voter facts and procedures in the U.S.” and redirects users to CanIVote.org.
Samsung unveils AI features in its Galaxy S24 line: generative AI editing tools, Circle for Search (which lets you circle a piece of text with your finger or S-Pen to trigger a Google search on the word), Gemini Nano (the most efficient model for on-device tasks), Live Translate during calls, AI note formatting aids, and more.
CES 2024 is shaken up by Rabbit's walkie-talkie AI-powered virtual assistant: the Rabbit R1 aims to replace current digital assistants with its adorable pocket-sized gadget that will use your apps for you. It has allegedly racked up $10M in sales already.

OpenAI partners with Arizona State University to use ChatGPT in classrooms: In a first for higher education, ASU and OpenAI join forces to unleash the power of ChatGPT in the classroom. Last year, ASU launched an AI accelerator program, bringing researchers and engineers together to create AI-powered services. The university also began offering prompt engineering classes to promote AI literacy. Universities offer a live testing ground for many generative AI use cases.

AlphaGeometry: An Olympiad-level AI system for geometry: AlphaGeometry is a game changer for how well AI models can logically reason through math concepts. AlphaGeometry was trained on 100M automated examples of geometric proofs. When tested on 30 past Olympiad problems, it solved 25 within the time limits - rivaling human gold medalists. DeepMind's other Alpha models like AlphaGo and AlphaFold pushed boundaries in games and protein folding.
Stability launches Stable Code 3B: a 3B LLM for accurate and responsive code completion at a level on par with models such as CodeLLaMA 7b (which are 2.5x bigger). Stable Code3B operates offline even without a GPU on common laptops such as a MacBook Air.
New Anthropic paper on Sleeper Agents: Anthropic trained LLMs to act secretly malicious. They found that, despite their best efforts at alignment training, the AI models were capable of deception and bypassing safety checks.
Google DeepMind Research Introduces AMIE: Articulate Medical Intelligence Explorer (AMIE). Google's doctor bot surpasses humans in both diagnosis accuracy and communication skills, raising the bar for patient care. Researchers say their AI system could help to democratize medicine.
